Little Amal

Little Amal, a giant marionette, visited Lviv and Przemyśl with us. The task of Amal originates from the project The Walk, Amal's trans-European journey. It draws the attention of the world to the refugee crisis and the suffering of children during the war and to humanitarian support organisations such as The Folkowisko Foundation, which provide direct aid to victims of war on both sides of the border. This huge, 3.5-metre-long marionette symbolising the children orphaned and separated from their families by the war, met with hundreds of people affected by the refugee crisis in Ukraine. In Arabic, Amal means Hope, and the doll represents an adorable little Syrian girl. Her journey is a symbol of the suffering caused by the war to thousands of children.
